The Orange Peel Rules
The Orange Peel comes from a long tradition of providing comfort and warmth to guests who want to enjoy high-quality musicals, plays, shows, and events. To promote a relaxing atmosphere, the venue has a list of rules and policies that guests should read and abide by. Failure to abide by venue rules and policies may result in expulsion from the venue without refund.

Arrival Policy
Arriving late may result in guests being asked to wait in the lobby until a designated break period. To avoid frustration, The Orange Peel recommends that you arrive no later than 45 minutes before a ticketed event to make sure you have plenty of time to find parking and get to your seat.
Bag Policy
No bags of any kind are allowed in the venue. You may check bags during winter months at the coat check station at $3 per item or leave bags in your vehicle.
Cancellation Policy
The Orange Peel will make every effort to announce cancellations due to severe weather or artist cancellation as soon as possible. If your ticketed event is canceled, please call 828-398-1837 to ask about rescheduling or ticket refund procedures and policies. If you know that you can’t make it to an event, you can also call and ask to make an exchange.
Children Policy
Some shows or events may not be appropriate for younger children. Please refer to the event description or program guide for help in selecting the right events for your family. Some shows are labeled as 16+ or 18+ where children may be present if in the company of an adult parent. Some shows are strictly limited to adults only and will most often children will be refused entry unless written consent to accompany a parent is given by emailing [email protected].
If a child is disruptive during an event or show, they and their accompanying parent or guardian may be asked to leave
Dress Code Policy
Clothing is required. The style is up to guests.
Coat checks are offered during colder months in the downstairs area.
Food Policy
Outside food and drink are not allowed in the theater for most events and shows. If a specific show or event allows drinks and refreshments, it will be discussed in the program guide. For all other events, guests can purchase sandwiches and refreshments at Pull Up at The Peel!, the on-site kitchen in the front room.
ID Policy
According to NC law, alcohol purchases require either a driver’s license, North Carolina special identification card, passport, or military ID card.
Even with these IDs on hand, the venue reserves the right to refuse service to patrons who look too young or appear intoxicated. IDs are also required to enter the venue for most shows unless specifically labeled as an all-ages event.
Lost and Found Policy
Lost an item at an event? You can ask event staff for help with finding the lost and found service. You can also call 828-398-1837 after the show. Please be prepared to leave your full name, contact information, and a detailed description of your lost item.
The Orange Peel does not claim responsibility for your lost possessions.
Prohibited Items
The Orange Peel restricts certain items within the theater in the interests of safety and to preserve the atmosphere of enjoyment for other guests. While some events may vary, the following is relevant to most productions. Please contact The Orange Peel at 828-398-1837 if you have any questions or refer to your ticketed event description and program.
- Backpacks and bags of any kind
- Outside drinks, coolers, cans, cups, bottles, and beverages
- Knives, guns, and any type of weapons or explosives
- Professional cameras and recording equipment of any kind
- Drones or unmanned aerial vehicles
- Laser pointers
- Noisemakers, whistles, and air horns
- Illegal drugs or substances
- Cigarettes, vapes, or other smoking paraphernalia may not be used except on the smoking deck on the right side of the stage
- Personal property or clothing that is a potential hazard to others (e.g. chains, wallet chains or jewelry with spiked edges)
Safe Trip Home Policy
If you feel intoxicated or can’t drive safely, a staff member will gladly order you a taxi.
Smoking Policy
Smoking is not allowed at the venue. This includes vapes. A smoking deck is available to the right side of the stage area.
